Please read the following warnings to make sure cross play works correctly for you.
WARNING: Cross play servers do not support steam workshop mods. If you already have them installed, you will need to remove them from your server's sandbox_config.sbc file or generate a new world.
WARNING: Cross play servers only support a maximum of 3 planets. If your max planet value is currently higher than 3, change it to 3 or lower in the SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg config file.
WARNING: You MUST connect to the server via the server list, not the direct connection method.
WARNING: Cross play servers do not query via Steam's server browser - to check if your server is running and connectable, view the latest server log and look for "Game ready... Press Ctrl+C to exit"
WARNING: Cross play servers do not currently support Torch, you will need to uninstall Torch in order for your server to work with cross play functionality.
WARNING: Cross play servers appear in a different category on the in-game server list, make sure you select the "EOS" category in the server browser as shown in the below screenshot.
How to set up your server for cross play
It's incredibly simple to enable cross play on your Pingperfect hosted Space Engineers server. You just need to perform the following steps:
- Stop your server.
- Click "Configuration Files"
- Click "Configuration Editor" next to "Instance\SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg"
- Change 'Network Type' to "EOS" and tick the 'Console Compatibility' tick-box - so it looks identical to the screenshot below.
- Make sure you have set the "World to load" as one which supports cross play - it indicates so next to the world name as shown in the following screenshot:
Here is a list of all the crossplay compatible worlds: - Press save in the top left.
- Startup your server.
