Enabling and Disabling Dinosaurs

This will set up a whitelist of permitted dinosaurs on your server. The reason why this is a whitelist, and not a blacklist (eg. a list of disabled dinosaurs) is so that as new official dinosaurs are released to the game, this new dinosaur won't suddenly appear in your server without your permission. This way, you can test the new dinosaur ahead of time and see if it is fit for your server and enable it on your own terms.

To enable/disable dinosaurs you must edit the Game.ini file on your server, and add the dinosaur names under the [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] header. To edit this file, do the following:

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Click "Configuration Files"
  3. Click "Text-Editor" next to "Game.ini"
  4. Find the [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] header.
  5. Add the following underneath:
    AllowedCharacters=Struthiomimus

    Replacing Struthiomimus with whichever Dinosaurs you want to ALLOW on your server.

    To allow multiple Dinosaurs, add the line multiple times, replacing the dinosaur name after the =

    For example:
    [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]
    AllowedCharacters=Struthiomimus
    AllowedCharacters=Suchomimus

    For modded dinosaurs, you will need to find the name of the dinosaurs you want to enable and add it to this list. You can usually find the name of the dinosaur in the mod's description, or you can contact the creator of the mod.
  6. Save the file in the top left, and startup your server.

  7. Remember, due to the way this works, when the game updates, and you then update your server, if you are using this Dinosaur whitelist system, you will need to manually add the new dinosaurs from the update!
